I love the fact your pursuits aren’t limited to painting — which you obviously do so well! The John Adams video and link were a nice way to start the day. Thx.
Wow…what a wonderfully eclectic, provocative, and aesthetically inviting blog. I had no idea. I love the mix of ideas and focus (foci?) and your thoughts on your process and the pursuits of others.
This is inspiring me to try to create something myself. Can’t get more optimistic than that.
Whenever I despair about the state of painting in these, the early years of the 21st century, I look at images of some of your work and I feel better!
(Recently, I notice that there are other painters/photographers who share my opinion and are ‘incorporating’;), a few Val Nelson composition/subject elements into their work.)
Wishing you the very best…
Hey Val, optimistic pursuits … sounds optimistic 🙂
Hello Rayne, yes, it’s time for a new attitude, don’t you think? -Val
