September 14 and 15, 2019
Learn techniques for the painterly approach. This 2-day workshop in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan is an opportunity for painters to loosen up their technique with the guidance of Vancouver artist Val Nelson.
Fun and challenging timed painting exercises build confidence as you learn to work with economy while improving your ability to observe and render form and loosen up your brushwork. Includes blind-contour and gesture drawing, value studies, collaborative painting, limited palette, controlling chroma, and taking risks. Oil and acrylic. Some painting experience recommended.
Workshop hours are from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm on both Saturday and Sunday. Participants may bring a bagged lunch. There are also several eateries within short walking distance.
Participants are responsible for bringing their own oil or acrylic painting supplies, canvas or board, and easel. (If you don’t have your own easel, please contact the organizer at firstname.lastname@example.org.)
Spaces are limited. If you want to register for this workshop but prefer not to pay online, please contact email@example.com to make alternate payment arrangements.
