Life Studies

For the past several years, I’ve been investigating portraiture and the figure, undertaken partly in order to become a better painter, and to see how it might influence my work. Included here are painted and drawn self-portraits, portraits of friends, fellow artists, students, and also some pencil  studies I made in Paris of people I met there in the Spring of 2017. All but one of these were painted or drawn life.

You can see a lovely short documentary on the self-portraits by Mark Mushet at Vancouver Review Media here.
